What is Cardiovascular Surgery Summer School?
The Cardiovascular Surgery Summer School has been held annually since 2011 by the Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Surgery,
Three academic societies, the Japanese Society of Thoracic Surgery and the Japanese Society of Vascular Surgery (since 2014), are collaborating to provide cardiovascular surgery training opportunities for aspiring young people.
We have also contributed to the establishment of off-the-job training in cardiovascular surgery, conveying the appeal of cardiovascular surgery.
The capacity of about 100 participants fills up quickly each year, and everyone who attends is very satisfied.

5. Purpose
To convey the appeal of cardiovascular surgery to students and trainees, and to secure and train the next generation of cardiovascular surgeons.

Dry lab, wet lab (cardiac anatomy, AVR, CABG, Distal Bypass, pediatric VSD), lectures, social gatherings, etc.

12:35 - 13:00 Ice-breaking session (Self-introductions in groups of four, reasons for participating, aspirations, etc.)
13:00 - 13:30 Opening remarks from the presidents of the three societies
13:30 - 15:00 Dry Lab 1 Basic Techniques
